The problem

What gets in the way today.

Drive thrus live and die on speed and accuracy. Crackling speaker boxes, traffic noise, regional accents and rushed conversations all conspire to produce misheard orders, frustrated customers and remakes that cost time and ingredients. At peak hours, queues build quickly and a single confused exchange can stall the entire lane.

Staff turnover is high, training is expensive, and consistency across shifts is hard to maintain. Promotions and upsells are routinely missed, allergen and dietary questions go half-answered, and non-native speakers are often left to point at pictures, or simply drive away.

The solution

How Omnie Vox changes it.

Omnie Vox places an intelligent, conversational ordering assistant at the speaker post. It hears clearly, understands naturally, and confirms every item back to the customer in their own language, handling modifiers, combos, allergens and loyalty codes without skipping a beat.

Integrated directly with the POS and kitchen display, Omnie Vox sends accurate orders straight to the line, offers context-aware upsells (a hot drink when it’s cold, a cold one when it’s warm) and frees staff to focus on hospitality and food prep. Its management platform, Vox Net, captures order accuracy, conversion and lane-time data, helping operators refine the experience shift by shift.

Where else Omnie Vox works.

VOX KIT

Your menu board and order post, taking the order in 80+ languages.

Drive-thru voice ordering from Omnie Vox is a retrofit to the menu board and order post you already have. The weatherproof kit fits into the existing structure, takes the order clearly over engine noise in the driver’s own language, answers allergen and menu questions from your own data, and passes the order to the kitchen display.

A calm, patient voice that repeats the order back and never rushes suits anxious and neurodivergent customers, and spoken ordering helps drivers who cannot read the board from the car. Menu, availability and pricing stay current through AI Workflows in Vox Net.

In practice

A quick-service operator is replacing menu-board graphics across twelve sites. Vox Kit is fitted into each board during the changeover. On the first school run a parent orders four meals in Polish and hears the total back in Polish, the next driver asks whether the wrap contains sesame and gets a precise answer, and the manager sees in Vox Net that “oat milk” was asked about forty times before ten.

For every visitor

Multilingual, accessible and neurodiversity-friendly.

Getting started

Three ways to bring Omnie Vox to your space

The Vox POS range: Vox Post, Vox Stand and Vox Sign voice points 1. Vox POS

Ready-to-go voice points

The Vox Post for permanent outdoor installation, Vox Stand for indoor receptions and entrances, and Vox Sign for pavement and streetfront use. Position it, switch it on, done.

Vox Kit: processor, speaker, microphone and button for existing signs 2. Vox Kit · this page

Voice inside your existing signs

The processor, speaker, microphone and button, fitted into the sign or display you already have. Ideal for retrofits and larger deployments.

Vox App: free voice assistant from a QR code on any sign 3. Vox App

Free voice from a QR code

A voice-first web app that launches instantly on any phone, on any sign, poster or product. No hardware, no download.

Compliance

Support for the standards and duties that shape accessible spaces.

Spoken, multilingual signage is a practical, documentable way to meet accessibility obligations, with Vox Net recording every interaction as evidence.

Legislation

Equality Act 2010

Requires service providers to make reasonable adjustments, in advance, so disabled people are not substantially disadvantaged. Voice-first signage is a documentable adjustment for visually impaired, dyslexic, neurodivergent and non-English-speaking visitors.

Standard

BS 8300:2018

The British Standard for accessible built environments asks for wayfinding information in more than one format, including audible. Spoken signage complements the tactile, Braille and high-contrast signs the standard already recommends.

Public sector

Public Sector Equality Duty

Section 149 of the Equality Act requires the NHS, universities, councils and transport authorities to actively advance equality and evidence it. Vox Net analytics give equality impact assessments and annual reports a measurable intervention to cite.

NHS

Accessible Information Standard

Mandatory for NHS and adult social care providers in England (DCB 1605), and monitored by the CQC. Requires information in formats people can understand, including audible and other-language formats. Omnie Vox meets this at scale, with an audit trail.

Building Regulations

Approved Document M

Part M of the Building Regulations requires reasonable provision for everyone to access and use a building, citing BS 8300 as its technical reference. Specifying Omnie Vox at design stage puts audible wayfinding in the inclusive-design package before sign-off.

Web

WCAG 2.2 AA & accessibility regulations

Vox App and the Vox Net control panel are keyboard operable, screen-reader friendly and high contrast, meeting the Public Sector Bodies Accessibility Regulations 2018 and ready for the European Accessibility Act.

FAQ

Drive Thrus: common questions

Does it integrate with our kitchen display?

Yes. Orders are passed through AI Workflows in Vox Net to your kitchen display or POS, and confirmed back to the driver before they pull forward.

How does it handle engine and road noise?

The microphone and speaker are specified for the lane, and the button-to-speak model means the kit only listens while the driver is ordering.

Can it handle allergen questions accurately?

Yes. Answers come from your own allergen and menu data, kept current in Vox Net, rather than from a general model.
