Kit Installation

This section explains how to safely and correctly install the VOX KIT device inside a sign or display.

Housing

The VOX KIT includes an AI processor, an amplifier, a WiFi module and a cellular module (optional). These components are enclosed within an IP54-rated aluminium case that is vandal-resistant, suitable for external use and designed for integration within signage or display housings.

Power

The VOX KIT operates from a 12V supply that is provided by an external transformer. The transformer should be housed inside an IP rated casing if positioned externally.

Installation

Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician and should use appropriate cable routing within the sign enclosure. Ensure ventilation within the sign housing to prevent overheating and do not obstruct airflow around the aluminium case.

The speaker should be mounted on a thin, lightweight sheet with high compressive strength and moderate to high bending strength. Compressive strength mainly affects treble detail, while bending strength influences mid and low frequency output. Recommended materials are ACM, foamboard, fiberglass or corrugated cardboard.

Microphone should be positioned away from fans, vibration sources and direct airflow.
